Preparations underway for the new railway line

There are several districts in Bihar that are yet to be served by rail lines. Preparations are underway to connect these districts to the railway network. 

A detailed project report for the new railway line between Motihari (East Champaran) and Shivhar will be ready soon. After that, work on laying the railway line will begin.

Final DPR will be ready-

Because of this, Eastern Railway will conduct a geotechnical survey of this project. This will include studying land acquisition, stations, halts, yards, underpasses, ROBs, and bridges. 

A report will be prepared based on this. A final DPR (DPR for Railway Line) can be prepared. If everything goes well, track laying work will begin soon in Shivhar district. Trains will run here for the first time since independence.

Geotechnical survey will start-

East Central Railway is going to select a Delhi-based agency for geotechnical survey on this route. It is understood that the Central Government approved this rail project in 2006-07 on a proposal from the Ministry of Railways. 

Along with this, a provision has also been issued to connect the Shivhar and Sitamarhi rail lines. This means that the project is a new rail line, the Bapudham-Shivhar-Sitamarhi line. This will be a total of 70 kilometers long.

So much burden will come on the government-

UP Railway News: Land will be acquired for the new railway line in Uttar Pradesh, gazette of 5 villages will be issued.
Currently, a Delhi-based company will conduct a geotechnical survey along a 51-kilometer stretch from Bapudham Motihari to Shivhar. 

A report has been released by Mantu Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Administrative Officer of the Construction Department of the East Central Railway (Railway Project). The railway will spend ₹4.1 million on this survey.

New railway line project underway

The Bapudham Motihari-Sheohar new rail line project will benefit over 1 million people in the North Bihar districts of East Champaran, Muzaffarpur (Minapur-Siwaipatti), Sheohar, and Sitamarhi. This will be the first rail project for Sheohar. Sheohar has not had a railway line or station since independence.

This much bridge will be constructed-

The District Land Acquisition Department is expediting the land acquisition process for the new Bapudham Motihari-Sheohar-Sitamarhi railway line. 

According to the land acquisition survey, 13 bridges and 62 culverts are planned for this section. Thirty railway level crossings are also planned. However, their number is subject to change.

Rail project proposal released

This rail project was first proposed in the 2006-07 Railway Budget. Its estimated cost was ₹221 crore, which has now increased to ₹926.09 crore. 

After nearly two decades of waiting, the people of this region will now have the opportunity to travel directly by train. This will not only improve transportation convenience but also accelerate the economic and social development of the area.
