BCCI takes action against Pakistani players, files complaint with ICC against Haris Rauf and Sahibzada
BCCI: Following the BCCI's complaint, the ICC may now take action in this matter. If Sahibzada and Rauf deny the allegations, an official hearing will be held. If these two players fail to justify their actions, they could face sanctions under the ICC Code of Conduct.

IND vs PAK: The controversy surrounding the actions of Pakistani players during the Super 4 match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup has now deepened.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly filed an official complaint with the International Cricket Council (ICC) against two Pakistani players, Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan, for their offensive gestures during the match. The BCCI submitted the complaint on Wednesday, and the ICC has accepted it.
What were the actions of Pakistani players?
The complaint relates to Sahibzada Farhan's "gun-fire celebration" after scoring a half-century against India in Dubai on September 21. This action was widely criticized on social media.
In the same match, fast bowler Haris Rauf also engaged in provocative behavior. When Indian fans chanted "Kohli, Kohli," referring to the sixes hit by Virat Kohli in the 2022 T20 World Cup, Rauf mocked India's military action by making a plane-shooting gesture. Furthermore, Rauf also engaged in an on-field altercation with Indian openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill.
Complaint reaches ICC, major action may be taken
Following the BCCI's complaint, the ICC may now take action in this matter. If Sahibzada and Rauf deny the allegations, an official hearing will be held.
They may be required to appear before ICC Elite Panel Referee Richie Richardson. If the two players fail to justify their actions, they could face sanctions under the ICC Code of Conduct.
Sahibzada Farhan did not express any embarrassment
Meanwhile, Sahibzada Farhan has shown no regrets about his celebration. Speaking to the media after the match, he said, "That celebration just came out of nowhere.
I rarely celebrate after scoring a half-century." He further added, "When I got there, the idea of celebrating suddenly came to me, and I did it without thinking or caring how people would interpret it. We should play aggressive cricket against any team, not just India."
