IndiGo is offering travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to airport offenders, but there's some math involved

IndiGo has announced a travel voucher worth ₹10,000 for passengers following the travel crisis. IndiGo also announced that it will provide compensation ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000, depending on the flight's block time, to customers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of their scheduled departure time.

IndiGo has announced a travel voucher worth ₹10,000 for passengers following the travel crisis. IndiGo issued a statement saying, "Our top priority is taking care of our customers.

Following the disruption in operations, we have ensured that all necessary refunds for cancelled flights have been initiated.

Refunds have been credited to most customer accounts, and those who have not received a refund will receive them soon." In addition, those affected will receive a voucher and compensation ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000.

IndiGo said, "We regret to note that some of our customers traveling on December 3/4/5, 2025, were stranded at some airports for several hours and many were severely impacted by the congestion. We will be providing travel vouchers of ₹10,000 to these severely affected customers."

How long will the voucher be valid?

These travel vouchers can be used for any IndiGo travel over the next 12 months. This compensation is in addition to the commitment under current government guidelines, whereby IndiGo will provide compensation ranging from INR 5,000 to INR 10,000, depending on the block time, to customers whose flights are cancelled within 24 hours of the departure time. The airline stated, "We are committed to providing you with the experience you expect from us."

What is the mathematics of voucher?

IndiGo's announcement of the voucher comes at a time when the Indian government is threatening to impose sanctions on it. The airline's reputation has been severely tarnished by this crisis.

To improve its reputation and attract passengers, IndiGo announced the voucher. Since it can only be used during travel, the airline hopes to encourage people to trust it again and fly.

What should I do if I don't get my refund?

In its statement, IndiGo has said about the refund amount that if the booking was done through any travel partner platform, necessary action has been initiated for your refund.
