Three new industrial areas will be developed

The Delhi government has approved a proposal to develop three new industrial areas in the capital. This proposal is expected to be presented in the Cabinet meeting soon.

Senior officials say the industrial areas will be developed in Kanjhawala, Ranikhet, and Baprola. With this proposal, Delhi will have these three new industrial areas after many years.

Work is underway on these new technologies

The Industry Minister stated that industries working on new technologies such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and advanced robotics will be prioritized in these new locations.

He stated that the government will also provide financial assistance to encourage these industries, so that new technology-based industries can expand rapidly. This project (Delhi New Project) will be completed under a public-private partnership model.

This much acre of land will be used

Approximately 1,200 acres of land will be used for these new industrial areas (industrial areas in Delhi). This could provide employment to millions of people in the coming years.

Ranikhet has approximately 147 acres of land, which was previously earmarked by the Aam Aadmi Party government for development of an industrial hub.

Meanwhile, 137 acres of land in Baprola, southwest Delhi, is planned to be developed into a world-class electronic city with plug-and-play facilities. The Kanjhawala area will also be developed as a modern industrial and technology hub.

It will be developed on the lines of Gurugram Cyber City.

According to officials, these new industrial sites may be separate from existing ones. While the current sites are mostly designated for factories, they will be developed as satellite towns.

This means they will offer a full range of amenities, including offices, residential spaces, community centers, hotels, markets, and clubs.

This will improve people's living experience. A senior official said, "We are going to develop these industrial areas on the lines of 'Gurugram Cyber City', where along with industry, the commercial and IT sectors will also get a boost."

How many industrial estates are there in Delhi?

Currently, there are 29 planned industrial estates and 25 non-conforming pockets in the capital, Delhi. Many of these areas are under the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (DISDC).

Under the plan, new industrial sites will now be developed with environmental considerations and will focus on creating eco-friendly infrastructure to minimize environmental impact.
