News (UP News) Now, several housing projects are being approved in the UP city. This new government housing project will not only promote development in the area but also create housing opportunities for local residents.
These new projects (Uttar Pradesh Land Acquisition) will accelerate economic activity. The land acquisition process will be transparent. Land acquisition under the scheme may cost ₹1,234 crore.
Which projects were approved?
In fact, let us tell you that in Pratapgarh district, the council board has agreed to give up inhabited land in accordance with Section 31(1) of the Council Board Act 1965 to establish a new housing scheme in the Land Development Housing and Market Scheme on Katra Road.
It is worth noting that in December 2024, three housing schemes in Pratapgarh, Ghazipur, and Mau have received government approval.
How much land do farmers have?
The 273rd board meeting of the UP Housing and Development Council Board was held last Thursday under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Planning Department. For information, let us tell you that in Pratapgarh district, including the land of villages Teunga, Bhumiyamau, Badanpur, Jahnaipur in Tehsil Sadar of Land Development Homes and Market Scheme, Katra Road, 13.4478 hectares of land belongs to the Gram Sabha, 6.6590 hectares to the population and a total of 153.6177 hectares belongs to the farmers.
The proposed land acquisition for the project is expected to cost ₹1,234 crore (1234 million rupees). A site survey found 11 hectares of land occupied and inhabited. The council plans to develop a housing project on an additional 141 hectares, excluding this land.
There will be brainstorming on the plan of 1300 acres
The council proposed a housing scheme in Saharanpur before the board. After deliberating on the approximately 1,300-acre plan, board members discussed the need for such a large project and asked whether a demand survey should be conducted first. Therefore, the plan can now be presented at the next meeting.
These five schemes will get funds
Five projects of the Housing Development Council will soon receive funding under the Chief Minister's Urban Expansion Scheme. The council has submitted a proposal for this.

- Mau Scheme 204 hectares 3000 crores
- Ghazipur Scheme 65 hectares 489 crores
- Chitrakoot Scheme 64 hectares 557 crores
- Banda Scheme 136 hectares 722 crores
- Pratapgarh Scheme 153 hectares 1234 crores
Land will be provided for police station in Kanpur
The Council Kanpur Commissionerate received a proposal in 2023 to build a police station. Discussions were held regarding the payment amount, and now instructions have been given to make the payment by 2025.
The Police Commissionerate requested the land at the 2023 rate. The Board approved the government department's request, and now the council will provide the land at the 2023 rate.
Recovery will be made from the guilty engineers
Irregularities have been found in the buildings constructed in Agra city under the Central Government's Basic Services to Urban Poor scheme. Of the 632 buildings, 360 have been completed and allotted.
Cracks were found in the buildings during the investigation. A sum of Rs 1.5 crore will be recovered from the guilty retired junior engineer SK Bhadoria. The retired chief engineer found guilty in the same case is now deceased.
BSUP building will be demolished
On the other hand, the Board has authorized the Housing Commissioner to hear the retired Superintendent Engineer's side. A proposal was also brought before the Board to demolish the BSUP building, but the Board has ordered it to be declared useless according to PWD standards. After demolition, the seven crore rupees will be returned to the Urban Development Department.
