Musk's brain chip will be a boon for handicapped people, messages will be typed as soon as they are thought, mobile and computer will also work, learn how
Neuralink Brain Chip: What if you just thought and your mobile phone automatically typed messages? Or could computers and gadgets start working without your hands? It may sound like science fiction, but it's soon going to become a reality. Elon Musk's company, Neuralink, has developed a brain chip that reads signals from the human brain and transmits them directly to your phone and computer.

Neuralink Brain Chip: Have you ever imagined the TV turning on automatically just by thinking, or typing a message on your mobile phone without touching it?
It sounds like a joke or something straight out of a science fiction movie, but it's about to become a reality. Technology is advancing so rapidly that human thoughts can now be transmitted directly to machines. This discovery could prove to be a boon, especially for those who are unable to speak or move their limbs.
According to a report in the Indian Express, billionaire Elon Musk's brain-implant company, Neuralink, is planning to do something similar. A large-scale trial is scheduled for October.
Its aim is to help people who are unable to speak or express themselves, by allowing them to convert their thoughts directly into text.
Thoughts will convert speech into voice or text
Regarding this, Neuralink's President, Dongjin DJ Seo, informed at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea that this study is especially for those who cannot speak or have speech problems.
According to him, if a person just imagines speaking, then our device will capture that signal and convert it directly into voice or text, that too without any keyword.
The chip has been implanted in 12 people so far
According to the company, this device has received Breakthrough Device status from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This status helps in expediting the process of trials and approvals.
For your information, let us tell you that Neuralink first started trials on humans in 2024. Earlier in 2022, the FDA had rejected the company's proposal due to safety reasons.
According to the company, till now this chip has been implanted in 12 people across the world and more than 15,000 hours of usage have been recorded through it.
Neuralink's implant is designed to help people with conditions like spinal cord problems. The first patient used the chip to play video games, browse the internet, post on social media, and even move the cursor on a laptop.
Synchron Inc., a company working in the same field, is also testing an implant that could allow people with motor impairments to type on a computer.
How will this chip work?
The chip implanted in a person's brain will connect to a computer, mobile phone, or other device via Bluetooth. Suppose this chip were implanted in the brain of a paralyzed person, then this chip would be able to read the waves generated in that person's brain. After this, this chip would convert the brain waves into computer language, i.e., binary code.
The chip would then send this code to the devices connected via Bluetooth, and then that computer, mobile phone, or device would follow the command. This chip is designed to decode the signals received from the human brain and give commands to the devices using Bluetooth.
