Asia Cup Super 4 Scenarios: The group round of Asia Cup 2025 is now in its final round. On Monday, UAE defeated Oman by 42 runs in Group A and Sri Lanka defeated Hong Kong by 4 wickets in Group B. 

Oman became the first to be eliminated from the tournament and Hong Kong became the second T20. Now there are four matches left in the group round, out of which the results of 3 are going to be very important. 

After UAE's victory, the Indian team confirmed its place in the Super-4. Oman's defeat put Pakistan's team in a do or die situation.

UAE's hopes alive with win over Oman

With a spectacular seven-wicket win over Pakistan on Sunday, India had four points. UAE's win confirmed its place. With a win over Oman, UAE has kept its campaign alive. 

They have equaled Pakistan with two points. Now two matches are left in Group A and the match is going to be exciting. UAE and Pakistan will face each other in an important match on Wednesday (September 7). 

The team that wins this match will reach the Super 4 with four points. After this, India will face Oman on Friday, which will have no effect on the qualification.

Hong Kong account not opened

Hong Kong was disappointingly eliminated from the tournament after losing to Sri Lanka. After Oman, this team became the second team to be eliminated from the tournament. 

If the team had won this match, it would have had a slight chance of qualifying. This was the team's last match in the group stage. The team could not even open its account in three matches. 

Now three teams are still in the race in Group B. There will be a tough competition between Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

The matter got complicated in Group B

There are only two matches left in the group now. Afghanistan vs Bangladesh on 16 September and Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka on 18 September. 

If Afghanistan defeats Bangladesh, it will not only take itself but also Sri Lanka to the next round. This will mean that Bangladesh will not be able to go beyond two points and Afghanistan and Sri Lanka will have four points each. 

What challenges does Bangladesh face?

If Bangladesh defeats Afghanistan, then both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will have four points each. In such a situation, the Afghan team will have a chance to get two points in the remaining match. 

If Sri Lanka defeats Afghanistan, then it will move ahead along with Bangladesh. On the contrary, if Sri Lanka loses, then all three teams will have four points each and the top two teams will be decided on the basis of net run-rate.

Equations of the 5 teams in the race for 3 spots:

1. Pakistan: Must win against UAE on 17 September.
2. UAE: Must win against Pakistan.
3. Afghanistan: Beat Bangladesh on 16 September. If that doesn't happen, beat Sri Lanka on 18 September by a margin big enough to keep the team's net run rate in the top two.
4. Sri Lanka: Hopefully Afghanistan will beat Bangladesh on 16 September. If that doesn't happen, Sri Lanka will either have to beat Afghanistan on 18 September or hope that their net run rate keeps them in the top two even if the Afghan team wins.
5. Bangladesh: Beat Afghanistan on 16 September and then hope that either Sri Lanka beats Afghanistan on 18 September or their net run rate keeps them in the top two.
