Know what is DA
Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) are revised twice a year, in January and July, to compensate for inflation. This DA adjustment is linked to the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW), which reflects trends in the cost of living.
This 3 percent increase is the last change under the ongoing 7th Pay Commission. The 8th Pay Commission (8th cpc updates) is expected to be implemented from January 2026.
