A big gift for electric vehicle drivers
Keeping in mind the ever-increasing number of electric vehicles, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken a major step. Following the Lucknow Expressway, two more expressways will offer electric vehicle charging facilities.
Work will begin in a few days
Construction on the Gwalior and Aligarh Expressways is set to begin in two months. This work is expected to last 22 to 24 months. Both expressways will begin in Agra.
In addition to charging stations, food plazas and one or two petrol and CNG pumps will be constructed along both sides of the expressway. Site identification is currently underway.
Six-lane expressway will be constructed
Both of these expressways will be six-lane. Construction of these expressways will be undertaken by the NHAI Gwalior and Agra divisions. An NHAI official stated that the number of electric vehicle users is rapidly increasing. New models are entering the market every week, leading to the increase in vehicle numbers.
This facility will be available on the expressway
There will be two charging points on one side of the Gwalior Expressway. There will be two on the other side. Two vehicles can be charged at one point at a time. Charging the vehicles will take only 15 to 20 minutes.
Accordingly, two stations will be built on both sides of the Aligarh Expressway. Separate male and female toilets will be built. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food will be available at the food plaza.
Gwalior Expressway will be constructed
The expressway from Gwalior to Rohta, Agra, is slated to be constructed at a cost of ₹4,200 crore. A hanging bridge will be built over the Chambal River.
The government has granted permission for this. The NHAI Gwalior section will begin work in October. This project is expected to last 24 months.
The distance from Agra to Gwalior will remain only this much
With the construction of the expressway, the distance from Agra to Gwalior will be reduced to just 88 kilometers. This will make the journey a mere one and a half hours, compared to the current two to two and a half hours.
The expressway will connect to the third phase of the Inner Ring Road (UP). This will make it easier to access the Yamuna Expressway, Lucknow Expressway, or National Highway 19.
Aligarh Expressway will be constructed
The Khandauli to Aligarh Expressway will be 64 km long. This expressway will connect to the Yamuna Expressway, making it much easier to reach Hathras and Aligarh. Construction of the expressway, being built at a cost of ₹3,400 crore, is scheduled to begin in October.
The work will be completed in this time
This work is scheduled to be completed in 24 months. Hathras Road will be widened from Khandauli to Tedhi Bagiya Square. Dividers will also be constructed as part of this project. An elevated road will be constructed from Tedhi Bagiya Square to Rambagh Square.
