UP News: A new 90-km long link expressway will be built in Uttar Pradesh; land will be acquired for Rs 1,100 crore

News, Digital Desk- ( UP News) The Yogi Cabinet of Uttar Pradesh has approved the Farrukhabad Link Expressway, connecting the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Ganga Expressway. 

The approximately 90.83 km long expressway is estimated to cost ₹7,488.74 crore. This project will directly connect Farrukhabad to the national and state capitals, improving connectivity. Another benefit is that it will facilitate access to several important religious and tourist destinations.

This new 6-lane expressway will begin at Kudrail village in Etawah, extending through Farrukhabad to Sawaijpur in Hardoi. It can be expanded to 8 lanes in the future. Its construction will facilitate travel to Agra and Rajasthan for those traveling from Meerut/Prayagraj. 

It will also facilitate access for pilgrims to Baba Neem Karori Dham and the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Sankisa. The project will be completed in two phases: the first phase from Kudrail to Neem Karori Dham and the second phase from Nadaura to Sawaijpur.

The expressway will be equipped with facilities-

Service Lane:  A 3.75 meter wide service lane will be constructed for the passengers.

Bridges and Underpasses:  65 underpasses, 4 major bridges, 25 minor bridges, 2 railway overbridges and 1 flyover will be constructed on this route.

The construction of this project will not only significantly reduce travel time but will also provide a new impetus to the social and economic development of districts like Farrukhabad, Etawah, and Hardoi. 

This expressway will open a new avenue of development for these backward areas, increasing employment opportunities and strengthening the local economy. This will have far-reaching positive impacts.
