Haryana News: Police team that went to catch Khair smuggler attacked, station in-charge and 3 policemen injured

Three policemen including the Chhachhrauli police station in-charge were seriously injured in this attack. The accused also fired from a country-made pistol, but fortunately no policeman was hit by the bullet. 

Police have registered a case against six people under various sections and arrested four members of the accused family, while the main accused Parvinder is currently absconding.

Wanted Khair smuggler Parvinder attacked the police – Station House Officer

The incident reportedly occurred late Monday night when a police team led by the Chhachhrauli police station in-charge arrived in Kot Majri village to apprehend the wanted Khair smuggler, Parvinder. 

Upon seeing the police, the accused became enraged and attacked. Parvinder first bit the station in-charge's finger with his teeth, then hit a constable with a brick. 

The accused also did not spare the police vehicle driver, inflicting multiple cuts on his body. The accused then pulled out a pistol and fired at the police, but everyone narrowly escaped.

The accused's family was also involved in the attack - investigating officer

Investigating officer Vedpal said that when the police team tried to control the situation, the family of the accused, Parvinder, also attacked the police. Chaos ensued at the scene, and the police force retreated to save their lives. 

Police said three policemen, including the station in-charge, were seriously injured in the attack. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.

Case registered against six accused in the case, four arrested – Police

The police report filed charges including attempted murder, obstruction of public office, and illegal possession of weapons against six people, including Parvinder. 

These include two women who are members of Parvinder's family. Police have arrested four people, while raids are underway at several locations in search of the main accused, Parvinder.

Forest department officer gave information – Baljeet Singh

Chhachhrauli Range Forest Department Officer, Mr. Baljit Singh, stated that the accused, Parvinder Singh, already has several cases registered against him for khair smuggling. He added that the department was constantly monitoring him. 

The operation was being carried out in collaboration with a police team, but the khair smuggler resisted and attacked. The officer stated that a report of the entire incident has been submitted to senior officials and the absconding accused will be arrested soon.
